A tragic road accident at Ananthapalli in Nallajerla mandal of East Godavari district, near Veeravalli Toll Plaza, a speeding car rammed into a road signboard. In this incident, three people dead and one person injured. The deceased have been identified as residents of Gajjaram village in Tallapudi mandal of East Godavari district.
Nallajerla police report that Chaparla Hanumantha Rao, D Sagar, Chaparla Raju, and Gannina Narendra were in a vehicle that crashed near the Ananthapalli Toll Plaza while returning to their village after taking Hanumantha Rao, who is physically disabled, to Chennai for medical treatment. The vehicle struck a 500-metre caution signboard, and preliminary investigations indicate that overspeeding caused the accident, which resulted in the vehicle being completely mangled.
Narendra is critically injured and hospitalized in serious condition. Police have registered a case and transferred the deceased to Gopalapuram Government Hospital for postmortem examination. Separately, on April 6, a rice-laden lorry overturned on the Andhra-Odisha interstate ghat road in Pachipenta mandal, Parvathipuram Manyam district, causing a seven-kilometer traffic jam for several hours.
Officials stated the accident occurred around 11 pm when the lorry, traveling from Odisha to Andhra Pradesh, reportedly experienced brake failure. The vehicle blocked the road until police cleared it with cranes around 6 am, leaving passengers, including children and the elderly, stranded overnight.
