A disturbance at a medical college on the outskirts of Bengaluru triggered widespread outrage after a professor allegedly proposed to a student during an ongoing class, leading to a confrontation that quickly escalated. The incident occurred at Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre in T. Begur near Nelamangala. The faculty member, identified as Mohammed Abdul, addressed students using a microphone and made remarks suggesting a personal relationship with one of them. Videos recorded by students and later circulated online captured the unusual classroom moment, drawing sharp reactions from viewers and raising serious concerns about professional conduct within academic spaces.

In the footage, the professor is heard claiming that the student had previously expressed her feelings for him, a statement she immediately denied. He went on to publicly announce that he wished to propose to “one of the most important girls in our batch,” before naming her. The student firmly objected, questioning his claims and asking him to take the matter to the college administration instead. As tensions rose, she challenged him to provide proof, especially after he insisted that CCTV footage existed. The exchange soon turned into a heated argument, with both sides repeatedly questioning each other’s statements in front of the entire class.

During the confrontation, the professor repeatedly asked the student why she had allegedly proposed to him, while she continued to deny ever expressing such feelings. The student demanded evidence and maintained that no such conversation had taken place. At one point, the professor suggested he would discuss the matter later, stating he would speak the next day, but the student refused to engage further. Reports also indicated that he had brought chocolates for the class, which added to the unusual nature of the situation. The argument eventually subsided inside the classroom, but tensions among students remained high following the incident.

Shortly after the professor left the classroom, the situation took a violent turn on campus. The student, along with several classmates, allegedly confronted him and physically assaulted him, with some seen hitting him using slippers while others shouted at him. The incident caused significant disruption within the institution, as videos of both the confrontation and assault spread rapidly online. Police from the Nelamangala Rural jurisdiction visited the college and began examining the circumstances surrounding the episode. As of now, no formal complaint has been filed by either side, and the institution has not announced any official disciplinary action.
