Patna, May 9 Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary extended his congratulations to Suvendu Adhikari on taking oath as West Bengal's Chief Minister, marking the first-ever BJP government in the state.
Choudhary, who attended the ceremony held at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, described the occasion as a historic milestone in the BJP’s political journey.
He said he had the opportunity to interact with party workers and leaders from across the country during the event, calling it a reflection of growing public trust, organisational strength, and nationalism.
Congratulating Suvendu Adhikari, Choudhary expressed confidence that under his leadership, West Bengal would witness progress, good governance, and overall development.
He also highlighted the role of Narendra Modi, stating that central welfare schemes would effectively reach eligible beneficiaries in the state.
“My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Suvendu Adhikari on taking the oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. I am fully confident that under your leadership, West Bengal will reach new heights of progress, good governance, and overall development. At the same time, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the benefits of public welfare schemes will reach every eligible citizen of the state,” he said.
The swearing-in ceremony coincided with Pochishe Boishakh, the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
Tributes were paid to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore during the event, with leaders recalling his enduring vision and influence on India’s cultural and intellectual life.
“Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless words have long stirred the conscience of the nation, and his vision continues to illuminate India’s development journey,” Choudhary said.
Calling May 9, 2026, a day of profound significance, Choudhary said the moment would be remembered as the beginning of a new chapter marked by hope, dignity, and good governance.
He also extended his best wishes to other BJP leaders sworn in as ministers, including Dilip Ghosh, Ashok Kirtaniya, Ksudiram Tudu, Nitish Pramanik, and others, expressing confidence that the new government would deliver security, prosperity, and public welfare for the people of the state.
