Four tourists were found dead inside a dharamshala in Bihar’s Rajgir town on Friday, with police suspecting suicide. The incident occurred at the Digambar Jain Dharamshala located under the Rajgir police station limits in Nalanda district. According to Rajgir Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar, the bodies were discovered hanging from the ceiling of a room in the dharamshala. The matter came to light after the dharamshala manager noticed a foul smell emanating from one of the rooms and alerted the police.

On reaching the spot, police broke open the locked room and found all four tourists hanging. Mobile phones recovered from the scene are reportedly registered in Bengaluru. Both the phones and the dharamshala’s registration records have been seized for investigation.

Initial findings suggest that the incident may have occurred nearly two days earlier. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been called in to examine the scene and assist with the probe. Police are continuing investigations to determine the exact circumstances behind the deaths.
