Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir (September 20, 2024): A serious accident occurred in Budgam, Kashmir, when a bus involved in election duties fell into a valley in the Waterhall area. The bus, carrying 35 BSF personnel, plunged off a cliff, injuring several soldiers and causing significant damage to the vehicle. The bus landed in a drain in Brail village.
The BSF PRO has confirmed that Four soldiers have died in the accident. Rescue operations are underway, and the injured have been taken to hospitals in Khansahib and Budgam. The bus was en-route from Pulwama to Budgam for the second phase of polling when the accident happened.
The accident occurred near Waterhail when a fleet of five buses was traveling on a local road. The last bus in the convoy veered off the road and fell about 40 feet into a ravine.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene and pulled the injured jawans from the wreckage. At least two dozen people were injured, and one jawan is reported to be in critical condition. Local residents also joined the rescue efforts.
Voting for 26 Assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir is set for September 25. Among the 35 personnel aboard, six sustained serious injuries. The bus was headed to Khan Sahib Waterhall Police Station, located only 600 meters from the site of the crash, which occurred around 5 PM.
Previously, a BSF vehicle had an accident in Rajouri, Jammu region. On September 18, 2024, a bulletproof vehicle carrying Para-2 unit personnel fell into a 400-foot gorge in the Manjkot area, injuring six commandos and resulting in the death of one lance hero.
