Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a visionary leader, an exceptional administrator and a strategic thinker, and his courage and governance guide everyone. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on February 19, 1630 and founded the Maratha kingdom inthe 17th century.
"On the Jayanti of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we bow in reverence to the visionary leader, exceptional administrator, strategic thinker and champion of Swarajya. May his courage inspire us, his governance guide us and his spirit of justice and self-respect strengthen our society," PM Modi wrote on X.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary is celebrated with great enthusiasm on February 19 across the country, especially in Maharashtra. A special government program has been organised at Shivneri Fort in Pune, the birthplace of the Maratha warrior.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also posted on social media on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti. “At a very young age, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj took the vow to establish Hindavi Swarajya, and throughout his life remained steadfastly committed to protecting the flag of Dharma. He awakened in every particle of the nation the immortal spirit of living and dying for one’s own religion, one’s own kingdom, and one’s own language,” said Amit Shah.
"He organized every class of society and built a vast army whose sole aim was the protection of the nation and its culture. His unyielding will, indomitable courage, and unimaginable strategic genius are rarely seen in history. On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary, a respectful salute to him," Shah post on X.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar visited Shivneri Fort in Pune district and paid homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Numerous Shiva devotees were present on this occasion. Today, programs and processions have also been organised in various cities across the state.
