IAS topper Tina Dabi and IAS Athar Aamir Khan, who tied the knot in 2018, have filed for divorce. The couple has filed for divorce with mutual consent in a family court in Jaipur. Notably, Dabi had topped the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination in 2015, while Khan had secured the second position in the prestigious civil services exams the same year. After getting married in Kashmir, the couple had hosted their wedding reception in Delhi which was attended by Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, former Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. The marriage of Tina Dabi and Athar Khan had come under the scanner sometime ago after Dabi had removed 'Khan' from her surname on social media.

Around the same time, Athar too had unfollowed Tina on Instagram. Tina and Khan got married at a court ceremony in Rajasthan's Jaipur and again had a wedding in the latter's home state Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. It was reported that both the IAS officers from the Rajasthan cadre had come close to each other during their training period.Dabi became the first-ever Dalit girl to top the UPSC examination in her first attempt itself. It may be recalled that Hindu Mahasabha had expressed unhappiness over Tina's decision to marry Khan. The Hindu Mahasabha had written a letter to the IAS topper's parents urging them to cancel the wedding or convince Khan to convert. In its letter, the group had said that the marriage will promote love jihad.
