Corona tally in UP reaches 276; 48 new cases

The coronavirus tally in Uttar Pradesh has risen to 276 with 48 new cases testing positive on Sunday.

Lucknow, April 5 The coronavirus tally in Uttar Pradesh has risen to 276 with 48 new cases testing positive on Sunday.

Sixteen persons have tested positive for coronavirus at the King George's Medical University in Lucknow.

Three more persons in Agra tested positive, taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 48.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that district magistrates would be held responsible if people go without food.

The Chief Minister has sought a list of districts, where community kitchens have still not been set up along with names of district magistrates.

Municipal councilors, local body employees and gram pradhans should be mobilized to ensure swift distribution of food, he said.

Their help should also be sought for distribution of LPG cylinders, medicines and other essential goods.
