Strangers are extending a helping hand to people who are facing problems during the covid crisis in the country. There are many such examples.

Many people have lot their family members due to covid. during uch trying times, strangers have come forward to help people who lot their beloved ones. 

A Delhi doctor performed last rites of an old woman who died due to covid while her son is still in hospital fighting the disease. The elderly woman and her son were both infected by corona. The woman lost her battle to the virus while her son could not perform last rites because he was infected with covid.

As her son was covid positive, the question of who would perform funeral of the woman had arisen. Eventually, the doctor who treated the woman took the initiative and performed the last rites. The doctor performed all rituals, and lit the pyre. Later he handed over the ashes to woman' son when he recovered.

Dr. Varun Garg of Hindurao Hospital said that the incident took place on 5th May. At 10 o'clock at night, he got a call from a fellow doctor. A 77-year-old woman has died at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Covid Hospital. Her son is also covid positive. Her family members cannot come from Haryana. When no one came forward till Thursday, I decided to help the family. I asked my doctor friend to get the consent from her son so that I could perform the rituals,” said Garg.

“Her son gave us written consent, and authorised me to perform the rites in his stead” he added. On May 13, the woman's son was cured. When he was discharged, I handed him the ashes, said Varun
