India registered a slight dip in COVID-19 cases as it registered 3,68,147 new coronavirus infections and 3,417 related deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the union health ministry on Monday morning. With this, the cumulative count of the cases has gone up to 1,99,25,604.

India is currently dealing with a devastating second Covid-19 wave that has swept through the nation, crushing the country's health infrastructure and overburdening frontline medical workers.

But in many states, the situation has gotten out of hands due to corona. Health infrastructures in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar are overburdened due to increased corona cases.

A family in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh has been hit by a corona. According to family sources, three members of Balkishan Garg's family, including his wife Chandrakala (75), eldest son Sanjay (51) and youngest son Swapneesh (48), had died of the infection within days of each other. After witnessing the three deaths in the span of five days, the family's youngest daughter-in-law went into depression and allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself on Wednesday, they claimed.

On getting information about the suicide, the police reached the Garg residence and sent the woman's body for post-mortem, Dewas city superintendent of police (CSP) Vivek Singh said. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are underway, he added.
