At least 11 were killed and eight others were seriously injured after a pickup van collided with a trailer truck in Rajasthan's Dausa district in the early hours of Wednesday, August 13. The accident took place on the Dausa-Manoharpur highway near Bapi. Nine injured passengers have been referred for treatment, and three are being treated in the District Hospital, said Dausa District Collector Devendra Kumar. The deceased are from Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district, including seven children and three women.
Dausa Dy SP Ravi Prakash Sharma said, "A total of 11 people have died. This includes four children and seven women... One woman died after reaching SMS Hospital, where she was referred to from Dausa."
The incident occurred when a group of devotees were returning from Khatu Shyam and the Salasar Balaji Temples. "An information was received about devotees coming from Khatu Shyam temple who met with an accident and till now, 10 casualties have occurred. Nearly 7-8 people have been referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur," said SP Sagar Rana.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma condoles loss of lives in the accident, "The news of the loss of lives in the horrific road accident in Dausa is extremely saddening. The district administration has been directed to ensure prompt and appropriate treatment for the injured. May God grant peace to the departed souls and a speedy recovery to the injured."
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the road accident in Dausa, Rajasthan. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Instructions have been given to the officials to coordinate with the Rajasthan government officials.
