Delhi Bomb Threat: Multiple Schools and Bank Evacuated After Morning Alerts, No Explosives Found

Multiple schools and a bank in Delhi received bomb threats on Monday morning, triggering widespread concern. The Delhi Fire Department reported that the first call came around 8:20 am concerning the Army Public School in Delhi Cantt. Within minutes, Salwan Public School in Mayur Vihar received a similar alert at 8:36 am, followed by Meera Public School in Janakpuri at 8:45 am. Later in the morning, authorities were notified of threats at a private bank in Statesman House, Barakhambha Road, and Rabia Girls’ Public School in Lal Kuan by 9:58 am. The Delhi Fire Services, local police, K9 units, and bomb squads were immediately deployed to all sites reported TOI.

All affected locations underwent thorough anti-sabotage checks as precautionary measures. Officials emphasized that such threats are part of a recurring pattern in Delhi, with multiple educational institutions previously targeted. On February 23, several schools received similar warnings, resulting in evacuations and intensive security inspections. Earlier that month, three schools in Dwarka, Najafgarh, and Paschim Vihar faced threats, forcing students and staff to vacate premises while police and bomb squads conducted meticulous searches, although no explosives were found, reported TOI.

Security agencies have remained alert following a spate of threatening communications in January and February. Weeks before the latest incidents, schools received emails claiming that explosions would occur at 1:11 pm, with the sender also alleging a possible attack on Parliament on February 13. Authorities treated these warnings with seriousness, deploying additional security personnel at sensitive installations and ensuring heightened vigilance throughout the capital. Similar emails in January led to repeated evacuations and tighter security measures in schools across Delhi, reflecting ongoing concerns about potential sabotage threats, reported TOI.
