Four people rushed to the hospital, and several were reportedly trapped under the debris of a building that collapsed in Delhi's Seelampur area. The collapsed building is located in the Janata Mazdoor Colony in Northeast Delhi's Welcome area, as per India Today. The incident occurred at around 7 am on Saturday, July 12, prompting seven fire tenders to rush to the collapse site after receiving the information.

A video shared by the news agency PTI shows locals helping to clear the debris and rescue people.

Six more people are trapped under debris, and four were rescued and transported to the nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. Rescue operations are currently underway. After the relief work, the exact cause of the building collapse will be investigated.

"At around 7:15 AM, a building collapsed in Gali No. 5, Welcome area. It was a three-storey building, and members of the Matroop family were among those inside. Some people, have been rescued so far, while rescue operations are still ongoing,"  said Additional DCP Sandeep Lama.

"We have received a call regarding a building collapse at 7 am. Multiple teams are working, including seven fire tenders. Further information is awaited," the officer said.

"This is A block Janata Colony. It was about 7:45 am, I was resting on my cot and then suddenly heard a deafening sound... I came outside and saw a pall of dust all around. Everyone started shouting, crying. I don't know how many people were present here when it happened. They had 10 people in the family, I don't know how many of them are under the rubble," said Asma, a local resident.

"At around 6:45 AM, the lights suddenly went out. When I looked, I saw that a building had collapsed. Police officers arrived, and three people have been rescued so far. There's no way to enter from the other side, it's a narrow lane," another local stated.

Earlier in Friday, at least one dead after a three-storey building collapsed around 2 AM on Friday. Initial reports suggest the building was decades old and structurally weak. The collapse also caused significant damage to a truck parked outside the buildings. Shops that operated from the ground floors were also impacted.
