Delhi Weather Update: Rain, Hail Disrupt Pre-Holi Festivities, More Showers Expected

Delhi weather witnessed a sudden shift in weather on Wednesday evening as unseasonal rainfall and hailstorms disrupted pre-Holi celebrations. The Holika Dahan rituals were affected as heavy rain, strong winds, and hail lashed several areas, including Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that similar weather conditions will persist over the next few days, raising concerns about the main Holi celebrations on March 14.

The IMD has warned that Delhi-NCR is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall on March 14, the main day of Holi. This could dampen outdoor festivities as cooler temperatures and persistent showers may discourage revellers from stepping out.

Additionally, the department has issued alerts for continued rainfall on March 14 and 15 due to an active western disturbance affecting North and Northwest India.
