Demolition Drive in Gujarat: Administration Removes Illegal Encroachments on Somnath Temple Trust Land
The Administration have demolished illegal construction on Somnath Temple Trust land along Triveni Road in Gujarat on Saturday, March 22. Notices were issued to encroachers earlier, and now, with police support, the eviction and demolition process has begun, reported the news agency IANS.
According to the Desh Gujarat report, local authorities demolished over 30 unauthorised residential structures. The battle between Somnath Trust and residents ended after a court order in favour of the temple trust, which asked authorities to take legal action against the encroachers.

The Somnath Trust alleged that unauthorised structures had been built on its property and filed a complaint regarding illegal encroachments on survey number 37/1, covering 3,849.04 square yards. On the other hand, residents claimed that they had been living here for a long period of time. During the hearing, the court ruled in favour of the Somnath Trust and ordered the encroachers to vacate the premises.
