Fly91 Hyderabad–Hubballi Flight Diverted To Bengaluru Due To Bad Weather

A Fly91 flight from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Hubballi was diverted to Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday after adverse weather conditions prevented landing, officials said. The aircraft remained in the air for an extended period before being rerouted, with all 22 passengers reported safe.

The Fly91 Airlines flight IC3401, operated using an ATR turboprop aircraft, departed Hyderabad at around 3 pm and was scheduled to land in Hubballi by 4:30 pm. However, as the aircraft approached its destination, poor weather conditions forced the pilots to abort landing attempts.

Officials said the aircraft circled over Hubballi for nearly an hour as the crew waited for conditions to improve. When visibility and weather did not stabilise, the pilot decided to divert the flight to Bengaluru as a precautionary measure. “Due to bad weather, the flight was diverted. Such decisions are standard safety procedures,” an airport official said.

The flight was supposed to land at 4:30 PM.

The flight landed safely in Bengaluru at around 6:30 pm. After weather conditions improved later in the evening, the aircraft departed again and reached Hubballi at about 11 pm. Authorities confirmed that all passengers on board were safe and no emergency situation was reported.

Despite the safe outcome, some passengers described the experience as stressful. One passenger said the extended time in the air caused anxiety, with several travellers visibly worried during the flight.

He added that although the situation was unsettling, the crew handled it professionally and ensured passenger safety throughout the journey.
