A severe cooking gas shortage in the holy city has disrupted the functioning of community kitchens, forcing the Ram Rasoi at the Amava Temple near the Ram Mandir to temporarily halt its daily meal distribution service. Ram Rasoi, which provides free meals to hundreds of devotees and pilgrims visiting the temple town every day, has been unable to continue operations due to the unavailability of LPG cylinders. The kitchen, known for serving simple and nutritious food to visitors and the needy, plays an important role in supporting the large number of pilgrims arriving in Ayodhya.

According to temple authorities and volunteers managing the facility, the shortage of cooking gas has affected several local establishments, including eateries and community kitchens. With supplies running low, Ram Rasoi had no option but to suspend meal preparation until fresh LPG stocks become available. Over the past two days, it has been reported that commercial LPG shortages have begun affecting restaurants in several cities, including Mumbai.Restaurant associations have warned that the disruption could affect thousands of eateries if supply issues persist.

The shortage comes at a time when global energy markets are already under pressure due to the ongoing West Asia conflict, which has disrupted fuel shipments and raised concerns over supply chains. Authorities have said efforts are underway to stabilise LPG supplies, but industry bodies say restaurants are already facing operational difficulties as commercial cylinder deliveries have slowed down. For now, the hospitality sector is closely watching how quickly LPG supplies normalise, as continued disruptions could force more hotels and restaurants to temporarily shut operations in the coming days.
