Honor Killing: 27-year-old man murdered allegedly by his wife's relatives in Kerala

In a shocking incident, a 27 year old man was murdered allegedly by his wife's relatives on Friday evening in Palakkad district in Kerala. The deceased identified as Aneesh had got married hardly three months ago.

The police has arrested Aneesh’s father-in-law Prabhukumar and Suresh, uncle of Aneesh’s wife. Both are suspected to be behind the incident. However, more details are needed to confirm the murder as an incident of honour killing, says Palakkad Dy SP P Sasikumar. 

Meanwhile, Aneesh’s father has claimed that his son's killing is a case of honour killing as Haritha’s, Aneesh’s wife, father had already threatened that they won’t permit them to live longer as both belonged to different caste. Reportedly, even Arun, Aneesh’s brother, revealed that Aneesh’s father-in-law had threatened them.

On Friday evening, Aneesh and his brother were travelling on a bike. When they stopped near a shop, Prabhukumar and Suresh allegedly attacked them. Aneesh was badly injured on the neck and leg. However, he was rushed to the Palakkad district hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
