India surpassed a sad milestone of going past Russia to become the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus pandemic. According to Worldometer United States and Brazil occupy the first and second spot in terms of total Covid-19 infections. India has a total of 6,97,069 coronavirus cases, while the virus-related fatalities have reached 19,699, as per the latest data by the Worldometer. Russia meanwhile, has 6,81,251 infections, Brazil (15,78,376 cases) and US (29,54,999 cases).

In India, Maharashtra continues to be the state with most number of coronavirus cases. Followed by Tamil Nadu and Delhi. The overall tally of Covid-19 infection across the globe has reached 11,371,646 on Sunday, while the fatalities mounted to 532,856 deaths worldwide. The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc in 213 countries and territories around the world. The United States is the hardest-hit country with 129,676 deaths. It is followed by Brazil with 64,265, Britain with 44,198, Italy with 34,854 and Mexico with 30,336 fatalities. Scientists across the globe are fighting to get the rigit vaccine for the deadly virus which has wrecked havoc in the lives of millions.
