Jharkhand: A tragic incident occurred in Gumla district where two teenage girl drowned while bathing in river. This tragedy occurred on Thursday April 16 at around 10:30 am in thee Basia police station area. 

According to PTI reports, six girls of Shanichar Tola went to Chutia river. The two girls went into deep water and started drowning. Locals immediately jumped into water to rescue girls. Following the incident girls were taken to the Referral Hospital in Basia, but doctors declared them dead," he added.

The deceased were identified as Kajal Kumari and Deep Shikha Kumari, police said. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to the Gumla Sadar Hospital, they said.

In Palghar, a 10-year-old boy died  boy drowned while swimming in a lake. This tragedy occurred  in the Mogarpada area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kasarvadavali police station. According to officials, the boy had gone to the lake with his friends and entered the water for a swim, during which he drowned.

According to PTI, his friends immediately raised an alarm, prompting a swift response from the police and fire brigade teams. After a search operation, the boy’s body was recovered from the lake. Police have registered a case of accidental death and further investigation is underway, an official stated.
