Two women died and 15 others were injured after a pole supporting a pandal stage fell on them during a Navratri Jagran in Punjab's Ludhiana. The incident took place on Rahon Road on Saturday night, October 5.
The stage collapsed due to high winds uprooted the pole at the Jagran event, and one of the poles fell on the crowd seating in front of the stage. The deceased was identified as Sunita Devi. The injured women were rushed to a hospital, where they succumbed. The injured were discharged after first aid, the police said.

The video of the accident went viral on social media. A 30-second clip shows a woman singer and other performers on stage, along with a cameraman. As the video progresses, strong winds hit the stage, causing a pole to fall onto the audience seated in chairs.
In the wake of this tragedy, the Temple Committee has expressed their condolences. As Navratri begins, devotees hold 'Jagran at beautifully decorated pandals where they sing bhajans in honour of the Goddess.
