Haldi ceremony turn fatal, when a 21-year-old to-be-bride died and and the groom-to-be was put on ventilator. This tragedy occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone. The wedding was held on April 22, while her wedding was scheduled for April 26. Following which she was rushed to government hospital in Khargone and later referred to Indore. When treatment at MY Hospital fell through, she was transferred to a private hospital. The Food Department team also began checking such stalls for adulteration. The tragedy devastated the family and raised concerns about allergic reactions and treatment delays. The groom also suffered severe symptoms from the adulterated turmeric, requiring ventilation, and some guests were admitted to the ICU.

The suspect turmeric was sent for testing by doctors from MY Hospital's Medicine Department, who handed samples to the Food Department. The investigation seeks to determine if harmful chemicals in the turmeric caused the illnesses. The couple, from a rural area, had purchased loose turmeric from the local market.
