Indore Road Accident: Drunk Driver Rams Car Into 7 Vehicles on MG Road, Four Injured

A drunk driving incident created chaos in the MG Road locality of Indore on Thursday after a man identified as Gajanand Malviya allegedly rammed his car into multiple vehicles, leaving four people injured. According to police officials, the accused crashed into as many as seven vehicles along the busy stretch, triggering panic among commuters and shopkeepers. The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they received medical treatment. Authorities conducted a medical examination of Malviya, which reportedly confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Police have initiated further legal proceedings in connection with the case.

Eyewitnesses said the driver first knocked down four pedestrians on MG Road before losing control and ploughing into a fabric store, causing additional damage. The sudden series of collisions led to outrage among bystanders, who pulled Malviya out of the vehicle and assaulted him before police intervened. CCTV cameras installed in the area captured the sequence of events, and the footage is now being reviewed as part of the probe. Officers from the MG Road Police Station detained the accused at the scene. During questioning, Malviya allegedly claimed that he was a doctor, though officials are verifying this assertion.

Speaking to ANI, Vijay Singh Sisodia, in charge of MG Road Police Station, stated that the incident occurred between the Municipal Corporation intersection and the Chikmagalur intersection. He confirmed that seven vehicles were struck in the stretch and four individuals sustained injuries. All the injured persons were provided medical care, and their condition is reported to be stable. Sisodia added that the accused was found intoxicated after testing and has been taken into custody. Police said he will be produced before the court, while a detailed investigation into the matter is currently underway. Further information is awaited.
