New Delhi, April 27 The Ministry of Women and Child Development on Monday said that the nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) will close on July 31.
The prestigious national-level award, conferred annually to recognise exceptional achievements of children aged 5 to 18 years, are given only to an Indian citizen residing in the country, said an official statement.
The awards are given to children who deserve recognition at the national level in the fields of bravery, sports, social service, science and technology, environment and arts and culture.
Nominations from any citizen will be received only through the National Awards Portal on https://awards.gov.in. Self-nomination & recommendations for the awards, both shall be considered, said the Ministry.
The last date for receipt of online applications is July 31, it said.
Earlier in the day, the Union Home Ministry also issued a reminder about July 31 being the last date for nominations/recommendations for the Padma Awards to be announced on the occasion of Republic Day 2027.
The nominations process was launched on March 15 with the stipulation that these will only be received online on the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal (https://awards.gov.in), said an official statement.
The Padma Awards, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, are amongst the highest civilian awards of the country.
The Home Ministry said the nominations/recommendations should contain all relevant details specified in the format available on the Portal, including a citation in narrative form (maximum 800 words), on the exceptional achievements/service of the person recommended in her/his respective field/discipline.
Details related to Padma Awards 2027 nominations are also available under the heading 'Awards and Medals' on the website of Ministry of Home Affairs (https://mha.gov.in) and on the Padma Awards Portal (https://padmaawards.gov.in ). The statutes and rules relating to these awards are available on the website with the link https://padmaawards.gov.in/AboutAwards.aspx.
Instituted in 1954, these Awards are announced on the occasion of the Republic Day every year. The Awards recognise ‘work of distinction’ and are given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields/disciplines, such as, Art, Literature and Education, Sports, Medicine, Social Work, Science and Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and Industry.
