Odisha Road Accident: Two Trucks Collide, Catch Fire in Balasore; Drivers Suffer Burn Injuries

Odisha:  Collusion between two truck occurred  on NH-60 in Odisha’s Balasore district early on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Following the truck collusion fire broke out and truck drivers suffered severe burn injuries. Accident took place near Basta around 1 am and the two vehicles, one carrying coal and the other iron plates, were completely gutted, a police officer said. 

Due to the mishap led to a halt in traffic movement on the highway for a few hours. Drivers of the two vehicles suffered severe burn injuries and were rushed to Basta hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical. On other hand Firefighters doused the flames. 

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident. In separate incident, five people, including a woman, died in a horrific road accident in the Chaksu area of Rajasthan's Jaipur in the early hours of Saturday, February 14. The accident took place near Tigadia, where a speeding car rammed into a trailer moving ahead. The impact was so severe that the car was completely crushed, leaving the occupants with no chance of survival. Police said the passengers had travelled from Madhya Pradesh and were on their way to visit Khatu Shyamji. The accident is suspected to have occurred after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

After receiving the alert, a team from the Chaksu police station reached the spot. An injured man was taken to the hospital in an ambulance but died on the way. Four others, including a woman, died on the spot. The bodies have been placed in the mortuary at the Chaksu government hospital.
