Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a habit of taking credit for all the good things, but he blames the state government as well as the opposition for the bad things. Senior historian and political commentator Ramchandra Guha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should change his ideology like Uddhav Thackeray.

In an interview to The Wire, Ramchandra Guha has commented on a number of issues. Guha commented on Prime Minister Modi's temperament. "Prime Minister Modi is a racist and this is evident from the permission he gave to the Kumbh Mela during the Corona period," Guha said.

Guha said that Modi's nature is similar to that of a 'cult personality'. Prime Minister Modi has surrounded himself with yes-men and loyalists. Many IAS officers were ousted because of their intelligence and accuracy in their work. Guha also said that Modi is consumed by his own “vanity ” and “megalomania… He is in love with himself.”

Guha also commented on Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's leadership skills as well. "Uddhav Thackeray is very different from his father Balasaheb Thackeray. He deliberately distanced himself from the politics of Balasaheb Thackeray's fascist positions. Uddhav Thackeray changed himself to get into the mainstream of politics and choose a middle ground.  Modi would have to become like Uddhav Thackeray, Guha said.

Even today, Prime Minister Modi is deeply attached to the Sangh. Both the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Prime Minister Modi campaigned in West Bengal, claiming that they were completely racist, and Modi gave permission to the Kumbh Mela and the royal bath despite knowing that the corona would spread. Last year, the Modi government targeted the Tablighis, Guha said.
