Ramlali Devi, the grandmother of Raj Kushwaha, an accused in the murder of Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi, died of a heart attack on Tuesday night in Fatehpur, according to the reports. Family members reportedly said she had been in shock for several days after her grandson’s name surfaced in the murder case and had stopped eating and her health worsened. She eventually passed away, and the family has now reportedly left for Fatehpur to perform her last rites.
Raj Kushwaha, along with Sonam Raghuvanshi and three others, has been arrested by Shillong Police in connection with the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. The police team has been in Indore for the past two days and is questioning the families of both the accused and the victim.

On the same day that Shillong Police were expected to visit Raj’s residence, the news of his grandmother’s death reached them. According to the regional media reports, the cremation will take place in Fatehpur, and it is likely that the family will not return to Indore for at least two weeks. It is still unclear if Shillong Police will travel to Fatehpur or wait for the family to return.
Meanwhile, police continue their investigation and new details are emerging. Investigators have found that Sonam Raghuvanshi was in frequent contact with a man named Sanjay Verma. According to call records, she made 119 calls to him between March 1 and March 25. However, Sanjay Verma’s identity has not been confirmed. Sonam’s brother, Govind, also denied knowing him.
Shillong Police continue their probe and are gathering information about Sonam’s behaviour and connections. More revelations in the case are expected in the coming days.
