RAJOURI, Jammu & Kashmir (November 4, 2024): Army personnel died, and another was injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in Rajouri district on Monday.
According to reports, the accident occurred near Badog village in Kalakote late in the evening. Naik Badri Lal and Sepoy Jai Prakash were found critically injured by rescuers and transported to a hospital. Unfortunately, Lal succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

In a separate incident earlier in the day, an Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 fighter jet crashed near Agra due to a "system malfunction," the IAF reported. The pilot, Wing Commander Manish Mishra, ejected safely from the aircraft.
The MiG-29 had taken off from Adampur in Punjab and was en route to Agra for an exercise when the incident occurred around 4:20 PM. The IAF confirmed that Mishra successfully maneuvered the aircraft to avoid populated areas, ensuring no damage to life or property on the ground. He was taken to the military hospital in Agra Cantt for evaluation. A court inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the crash.
