In a separate incident earlier in the day, an Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 fighter jet crashed near Agra due to a "system malfunction," the IAF reported. The pilot, Wing Commander Manish Mishra, ejected safely from the aircraft.

The MiG-29 had taken off from Adampur in Punjab and was en route to Agra for an exercise when the incident occurred around 4:20 PM.
