The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to come up with a decision on conducting the pending board examinations for classes 10th and 12th by Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

The petitioners are concerned of the safety of millions of students who would be exposed to COVID-19 pandemic if they appear in the said examinations

The SC has also asked CBSE to examine whether remaining examination of CBSE Board could be cancelled and marks could be given to students on the basis of their internal assessment.

Recently, the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) announced that said that the board examinations for classes X and XII, that were postponed due to Coronavirus lockdown, will now be held from July 1 to July 15
