New Delhi, July 18 A security guard has been arrested for beating a person to death after the deceased and one of his associates were caught red-handed while attempting a theft in the parking lot of the Sarai Kale Khan bus stop here.

"One person was declared brought dead by the hospital on Monday. He was allegedly found in an unconscious state by his father on a footpath near the Sarai Kale Khan flyover. A case of culpable homicide was registered in the Sunlight Colony police station and investigation was taken up," said R.P. Meena, DCP, South East Delhi.

The probe revealed that on Monday, deceased Khursid Alam and with one of his associates, Krishna, went to the parking of out of service cluster buses at the Sarai Kale Khan bus stand and attempted to commit a theft. However, the guards deployed there caught them red-handed and one of the guards also thrashed Alam.

The details of the on duty security guards were obtained from the security company TRIG which revealed that two guards named Brajendra Kumar Sinha (59), a resident of Nehru Vihar, and Chhanno Lal (58), a resident of Ashok Vihar Phase-III, were deployed at the crime scene at the time of the incident.

Both the guards were interrogated and it was revealed that Brajendra Kumar Sinha had beaten the deceased as he caught him red-handed along with his associate while they were attempting to commit a theft in the parking.
