A coronavirus positive patient ended his life at a hospital in Chennai on Wednesday. The patient was undergoing treatment at the Omandurar multi-speciality Government General Hospital. He killed himself in the restroom. The deceased was a resident of Royapuram. The 57-year-old man used to work as a clerk at the Madras High Court.  

Around one week before his death, the 57-year-old man was taken admitted to the Omandurar Government General Hospital as he complained of breathlessness and after tests he tested positive for coronavirus.  As per the doctors, the man had co-morbidities but was in a stable condition. On Wednesday, the man went to the restroom located in the hospital. When he did not return after a long time, the hospital staff started looking for him. The hospital staff found the man lying in an unconscious state in the restroom. The body of the deceased has been sent for an autopsy.
