Amidst the devastating second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, India reported 3.52 lakh fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. This is the highest single-day spike registered since the onset of the pandemic.

A shameful incident has come to light from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Fearing corona, a man allegedly abandoned his mother by the roadside in Kanpur Someone made a video of the elderly woman lying on the ground and it went viral on social media. Police rushed to the spot and rushed the elderly woman to the hospital. However, the elderly woman died during treatment.

The woman, who lived with her son Vishal in Kanpur Cantt, the accused man dumped her mother outside his sister's house in Tad Bagiya area in Chakeri fearing he might contract the virus from his mother and fled the spot.

Not willing to take responsibility for her sick mother, the woman's daughter refused to take her inside the house and left her on the road before some local residents came to her rescue. Meanwhile, a man made a video of an elderly woman fighting to the death on the street and the video went viral. Police arrived at the scene and rushed the elderly woman to the hospital, but she died after much effort by doctors. Examination revealed that the older woman was corona positive. A case has been registered against Vishal who had left his mother to die.
