Amidst the rising cases of coronavirus in the country Maharashtra's Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Environment Aaditya Thackeray announced a change in the name of the Department of Environment, to Department of Environment and Climate Change. The young Sena leader also thanked  his cabinet colleagues for giving their consent for the same. In his  tweet, Thackeray junior wrote,  that the decision moves the department to an active role in climate change mitigation. However the change in name was met with mixed reactions by netizens as many questioned his move of announcing the name change at a time when the state is grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
