Srinagar, June 30 Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday morning.

The encounter took place in the Waghma village. The police in a statement on Twitter said: "Waghama Encounter Update: 02 #unidentified terrorists killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow."

The Army and the police had launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) on the basis of a specific information about the presence of terrorists. As the cordon was tightened the hiding terrorists fired at the security forces which triggered the encounter.

This year, so far there have been several successful anti terror operations by the security forces that has led to the killing of many terrorists and their commanders.
