UP Tragedy: Family Returning from Ayodhya Meets Deadly Accident in Jalaun, 6 Killed

A horrific accident occurred on Monday in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The mishap, which took place near the Jolhupur turn within the Kalpi Kotwali police station area, claimed the lives of six members of the same family, while four others sustained serious injuries. The group was returning home after offering prayers to Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya.

According to reports, Shashikant Tiwari, a resident of Mehroni in the Lalitpur district, had traveled to Ayodhya with his family. While returning around 6:00 AM on Monday, the driver behind the wheel of the car suddenly dozed off. Consequently, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and it crashed into an unidentified vehicle traveling ahead of it.

A severe collision mangled a car carrying ten passengers, trapping them inside. Four died at the scene, and two more died in the hospital. The four remaining injured passengers are in critical condition. Eyewitnesses described a gruesome scene, with extensive damage to the car's front. Local residents and police worked for nearly an hour to extricate the injured. 

Police responded to the scene and initiated relief operations. The deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations, and an investigation is underway. Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar Singh stated the accident occurred on National Highway-27 and the deceased were residents of Lalitpur district.
