Bareilly: A shocking incident of crime has came to light were a 26-year-old man got arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl who later died by suicide due to trauma, police said on Wednesday. According to TOI post-mortem report confirmed the sexual assault and multiple injuries on the minor's body, including bite marks and nail scratches.

ASP (South) Anshika Verma reported that the death of an 8th-grade girl in Deoria Abdullaganj village on April 27, initially reported as suicide, was revealed to be a homicide after an autopsy confirmed sexual assault, severe trauma, and hanging as the cause of death. The victim's younger sister testified that the accused, Zeeshan (26), gave the victim money to conceal their interactions.

Police investigations revealed that on the day of her death, Zeeshan lured and assaulted the minor, who then took her life while her mother was away. Zeeshan was apprehended near the Mirganj weekly market on Tuesday based on technical surveillance, CCTV footage, and family statements.
