A horrific incident of crime came to light where a 35-year-old woman was killed by her live-in partner for allegedly demanding huge sums of money from him. According to police report, this crime took place around January 8 in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi area. Singh allegedly wrapped the body in a tarpaulin initially, later burning it inside the trunk. Accused is a  railway employee and was already married twice. His former wife lived in the Sipri Bazaar area, and the second in the City Kotwali area in the same city.

NDTV reports stated that, accused killed his live-in partner, stuffed her body into a metal trunk and set it on fire.  To destroy evidence, the accused reportedly dumped the ashes in a river before attempting to move the trunk to his second wife's house. He allegedly killed his wife over her money demand from him as she has already taken 10 lakh rupees.

To conceal the murder, Parihar burned the woman's body, collected the ashes, and scattered them in a river. He then planned to dispose of the remaining remains by sending them in a trunk to his wife, Geeta's, house. The crime was discovered thanks to the vigilance of loader driver Jaysingh Pal. Parihar, with his son Nitin and friends, hired Pal to transport the heavy trunk to Geeta's residence.  Pal grew suspicious of the trunk's contents and the group's behavior. After unloading, he alerted the police. "I was hired for Rs 400 to move luggage," Pal stated. "I suspected the trunk, initially refused, but eventually agreed. My suspicions intensified at the house, prompting me to call the police."

When the police arrived at the house and forced open the trunk, they were met with a gruesome sight: charred human remains, bone fragments, and coal-like substances.  Acting on a tip from a loader driver about a suspicious trunk, police discovered human skeletal remains and burnt material. Forensic teams have collected the remains for analysis. According to the accused's second wife, Geeta, Parihar claimed he was being harassed for money by his live-in partner. Superintendent of Police (City) Preeti Singh stated that evidence was recovered from the scene, and two individuals, including Singh's son, have been detained while the search for the main suspect continues.

Singh allegedly hid the body in tarpaulin, burned it in the trunk of a car, and disposed of the ashes in a nearby river, leaving only bone fragments and residue. Surbhi, a neighbor, reported that Singh had been collecting firewood for days and that she noticed a strange smell, which she attributed to burning wood for warmth. Police in Jhansi have registered a case based on a complaint from the victim's ex-husband. While the son and an accomplice are in custody, the primary suspect remains at large.
