According to initial reports, tensions had been simmering between him and his elder brother, Shatrughna Ravidas. On the night of the incident, an argument between the two reportedly escalated. In a sudden outburst, Shatrughna allegedly attacked Shailesh with a sharp weapon, inflicting critical injuries.
Family members immediately rushed Shailesh to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Shatrughna Ravidas, who works as a daily wage labourer and lives in the village, has been absconding since the incident. Police have launched raids to apprehend him.
