Uttar Pradesh: A 23-year-old woman was found suspended from a saree tied to a ceiling hook at her in-laws’ residence in Kathahi village. Police have booked eight members of family, including the husband, on charge of dowry harassment.
As per the information provided by police this incident occurred on Sunday May 3, 2026. Her family members have claimed that Doli was murdered before her body was hanged to make it appear like a suicide.
In Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, Farha Parveen has reported horrific domestic abuse by her husband, Bilal, sparking outrage and calls for greater protections for women. Farha alleges that Bilal, an alcoholic and gambler, tortured her for 12 years, starting shortly after their marriage. The abuse included regular beatings and cigarette burns. She remained silent out of fear and concern for her children.
On April 26, the violence escalated when Bilal allegedly attacked Farha at her aunt's house, verbally abused her, and illegally issued triple talaq, threatening her life. She reported the abuse to the Nagphani Police Station, who registered a case against Bilal for assault, harassment, and violations of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act. Moradabad Police are investigating the case and working to arrest Bilal.
