Thousands Attend Martin Garrix Concert, NMMC Ensures City Stays Clean

Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out a rapid clean-up operation following the grand event of world-renowned DJ Martin Garrix at Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium in Nerul. The concert, held on the occasion of Holi, attracted thousands of music enthusiasts from across the country.

To prevent traffic congestion, Navi Mumbai’s traffic police had implemented special traffic regulations in the area. Simultaneously, under the guidance of Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, NMMC’s Solid Waste Management Department had meticulously planned waste collection and transportation to maintain the city’s cleanliness.

A similar operation was successfully conducted in January during the Coldplay concert at the same venue, earning NMMC national recognition for its efficient waste management. Following that precedent, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ajay Gadade and Assistant Commissioner Sagar More personally supervised the overnight cleaning efforts. Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar, along with Deputy Commissioner of Zone 1 Somnath Potre and Assistant Commissioner of Nerul Division Jayant Jawadekar, also contributed to the operation.

With the coordinated efforts of Sanitation Officer Arun Patil, sanitation inspectors, supervisors, and a dedicated team of cleanliness workers, the clean-up was completed swiftly before dawn. Citizens have expressed appreciation for NMMC’s prompt response and well-executed sanitation planning for large-scale events.
