Navi Mumbai: As part of the broader 100-day action plan conceptualized by the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has promoted 91 officers and employees across 18 cadres—marking a significant step forward in administrative reform and staff welfare.

The action plan, aimed at driving transformation across all government and semi-government offices, has been effectively implemented in NMMC through initiatives focusing on office cleanliness, citizen-centric governance, and the enhancement of digital services. Alongside these public-facing reforms, the corporation has prioritized internal development, especially the long-pending service matters of its workforce.

Dr. Shinde has taken a proactive and hands-on approach, directing the administration department to expedite promotions and implement the Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme with revised benefits. Under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Administration Sharad Pawar, and the Promotion Selection Committee, rapid progress has been made since January 2025.

A key milestone was reached on April 11, when 82 officials from 12 cadres received promotions, and 77 employees from 16 cadres were granted ACP benefits. Meanwhile, in collaboration with the Education Department, six teachers were promoted and 123 were awarded senior pay scales. In total, 97 staff members, including officers and teachers, received promotions, while 203 benefited from revised ACP or senior pay entitlements.

The promotions span critical roles such as Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners, Engineers, Medical Officers, and administrative staff. ACP benefits have also been extended to professionals across departments, including sanitation, fire services, finance, and education.

From April 2024 to date, NMMC has promoted 231 officers, employees, and teachers, while 402 have received service upgrades through ACP and senior pay schemes. The momentum created by the 100-day action plan has accelerated progress, and under Dr. Shinde’s leadership, the administration continues to deliver on its commitment to both staff welfare and efficient public service delivery.
