NAINA-Affected Residents May Get Relief as Minister Intervenes in Property Registration Crisis

Mumbai: In an important development for residents of Panvel’s NAINA-affected areas, State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed CIDCO and the Inspector General of Registration to draft a policy to resume stalled property registrations.

The directive came after MLA Vikrant Patil, raising concerns in the legislative session, called for an urgent meeting to address the issue. Responding to the demand, a special meeting was convened at the minister’s office to discuss potential solutions.

For the past several months, property registrations in the NAINA-affected region have been on hold, causing distress to farmers and homeowners. Emphasizing the urgency of the matter, Patil pushed for immediate relief measures. Officials engaged in a constructive discussion on formulating a concrete policy to resolve the deadlock.

MLA Patil has been a vocal advocate for safeguarding constructions in the NAINA area, consistently raising the matter in the legislature. His efforts have prompted CIDCO to adopt a more favorable stance on the issue. He has now urged the authorities to extend the same positive approach to restarting property registrations.

With the special meeting yielding optimistic discussions, affected residents are hopeful for a long-awaited resolution.

Key attendees at the meeting included former Konkan MHADA Chairman Balasaheb Patil, CIDCO Additional Managing Director Shantanu Goyal, State Inspector General of Registration Ravindra Binwade, and senior officials from CIDCO and the Stamp Duty Department.
