New Delhi/Raipur, Oct 26 The Union government has given the nod for a synthetic athletics track in Mahasamund and a multipurpose indoor hall in Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh at a cost of Rs 6.6 crore and Rs 4.50 crore respectively, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said.

He said that the state's vision of 'Khelbo-Jeetbo-Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh' was turning into a reality with the development of sports infrastructure.

Both proposals were sent by the state's Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare to the Centre.

Baghel said that the state government had taken major steps to provide the best possible facilities to sportspersons in Chhattisgarh. "World-class sports infrastructure is being developed in our state for sportspersons," he said.
