Chennai, April 25 Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings will take on 2022 winners Gujarat Titans in Match 37 of the IPL 2026 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday in the first match-up of the double header.

With the tournament reaching the halfway mark, both teams find themselves in similar positions on the points table, having registered three wins and four losses each in seven outings. A victory here could prove crucial in helping either side gain momentum and climb the standings.

CSK head into the contest on a high after a commanding 103-run win over arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Sanju Samson starred with the bat, producing an unbeaten 101 to anchor the innings and guide CSK to 207/6. The bowlers then took over, with Akeal Hosein leading the charge with a four-wicket haul as MI were dismissed for 104.

Returning to their home venue after a brief stint on the road, CSK will look to build on their recent success. They have shown resilience in dealing with injury setbacks and have managed to assemble a well-rounded combination. Their record at Chepauk this season has also been encouraging, with two wins from three matches.

On the other hand, GT arrive after back-to-back defeats, having first suffered a heavy 99-run loss to MI before going down by five wickets to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, despite a superb century from Sai Sudharsan. These setbacks came after a three-match winning streak that had revived their campaign.

With momentum slipping and matches coming thick and fast, the Titans will be eager to bounce back quickly. While their bowling unit remains one of the strongest in the competition, concerns about the middle order continue to be an area they need to address.
