After kick-starting his 2019 season with round 1 and 2 of the Rotax Championship, Shahan had a solid round 3 and 4 to extend his lead. As seen in the previous rounds, the grid was mixed with junior and senior drivers in the qualifiers and the heats.

Shahan started off by topping the lone practice session in round 3 and then took pole in the qualifying, before winning Heat 1 and finishing second in Heat 2.

He was third in the pre-final and won the final, where the grid was separate. Round 4 also had Shahan start on pole as he dominated Heat 1 and Heat 2 before winning the pre-final and also the final to end the fourth round in a domination fashion.

"After my single-seater debut run in MRF 1600, it was back to karting run in JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Championship at Meco Kartopia," said Shahan.

"It was hectic though with back-to-back rounds in a span of two days. Thanks to my team MSport for the efforts due to which we were able to solve our tyre degradation problem which I suffered in round 2. It was a solid run overall and I am glad we now have a comfortable lead going into the final round," he added.

Heading into the third round, Shahan was only two points ahead of Manav Sharma but leaving the weekend, he now has 12 points between him and Manav.
