Good news for central govt employees! Govt will give 18 months da arrear with Diwali bonus

Before Diwali, there is great good news for central employees. Meanwhile, the central government has not paid Dearness Allowance (DA) for a year and a half. However, now the central employees are being told that they are likely to get the arrears.

Now the matter of arrears pending for 18 months has reached Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to media reports, a decision on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to be taken soon. Therefore, central employees can get a dearness allowance of 18 months till Diwali.

The Indian Pensioners' Forum has appealed to PM Modi to pay arrears of dearness allowance and dearness relief to central employees and pensioners. They have written a letter to PM Modi asking him to help in the matter.

According to the Office Memorandum, the Expenditure Department under the Ministry of Finance has said that the DA for central government employees will be increased from the current 17 per cent to 28 per cent of the basic salary.

In April last year, the Finance Ministry had stopped the increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) till June 30, 2021 due to Covid-19 epidemic. From 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2021, the DA rate was 17 percent.

According to National Council of JCM Secretary (Staff Side) Shiv Gopal Mishra, the DA arrears of one and a half years have not been received yet. Talks are underway with the government in this regard. According to him, the government will soon release the amount of DA in view of the growing demand for employees.

Employees who were hit hard by the Corona crisis were now relieved, according to the 7th pay commission latest update. From July 1, 2021, the dearness allowance for central government employees has been increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent.

In July 2021, Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced that the Union government had decided to increase the dearness allowance for government employees and pensioners from 11 per cent to 28 per cent. Along with the increase in DA and DR, the central government has also announced some other benefits for the employees.
