Millions of people travel by train every day in India. Railways are considered as the lifeline of the country. In the past, there were many thefts in trains.
2 / 10
In the past, it was common for fans to be stolen from a train. After this, the railways found a solution to this, now the thieves cannot steal the train fan even if they want to.
3 / 10
Seeing the increasing incidence of theft, the railways fought a battle and created a unique fan. The fan installed in the train is not like the ordinary fan in your house.
4 / 10
If train fans are installed in household it cannot run as the uniquely designed fan only rotates when fitted in train which is why thieves no longer steal the fan.
5 / 10
Generally we use two types of electricity in our homes. First AC (alternative current) and second DC (direct current). If AC power is used in the house, the maximum power is 220 volts.
6 / 10
If DC is used, the power is 5, 12 or 24 volts. But, the fans installed in the cars are made of 110 volts, which only run on DC.
7 / 10
The DC power used in homes does not exceed 5, 12 or 24 volts, so you cannot use these fans in your home. Therefore, the fans installed in the train can run in the train itself.
8 / 10
So stealing these fans is useless for people. Even if the fan is stolen, it will only be used for scrap. However, the wreckers do not even take items belonging to the railway department, as it is a punishable offense.

Train is a national asset. To steal in this is to steal national wealth. In doing so, an offense under section 380 may be filed against the accused.

If convicted, he faces up to 7 years in prison and a fine. What is special is that in such cases bail is not even granted.
