He was an alumnus of the of St. Xavier's College and University College of Law, Kolkata from where he earned his LLB.7 / 9In 2015, he was once rushed to the Fortis Hospital in New Delhi after he complained of uneasiness and had complained of pain.8 / 9Amar Singh, a sitting Rajya Sabha MP, had been facing health-related issues for over a decade.9 / 9Amar Singh, a former general secretary of the Samajwadi Party, was once known to be very close to the party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. However, in 2010, Amar Singh resigned from all party posts and was soon expelled from the party. In 2011, Amar Singh was sent to the Tihar Jail in Delhi facing charges of corruption in the infamous 'cash for vote case'.
