Pune, Maharashtra (February 14, 2025): A 37-year-old man was shot and killed during a dispute at a birthday party in Ambedkar Nagar, Dehu Road, late Thursday night. The victim, identified as Vikram Gurav Swami Reddy, was shot in the chest around 11:30 p.m. and later died during treatment at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri.

Police said the incident occurred during the birthday celebration of Nandkishor Yadav’s niece. A temporary canopy had been set up for the event, and food was being served when the accused arrived and allegedly instigated a quarrel. They reportedly taunted Nandkishor and attacked him with a chair.

Vikram Reddy intervened to defuse the situation but was shot. He was first taken to a private hospital and later shifted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:30 a.m.

A complaint was filed by Nandkishor Yadav at the Dehu Road police station. Police have registered a case against the accused, identified as Shabbir Shaikh and Faizal Shaikh. An investigation is underway to track them down.
