Pune Crime: Illegal Hookah Parlour Busted in Dhankawadi; 8 Booked, Goods Worth Rs 12,495 Seized
Pune, Mahareashtra (February 11, 2026): Sahakarnagar police on Sunday raided an illegal hookah parlour operating without permission in an upscale housing society in Dhankawadi and booked eight people, including the owner. Police seized material worth Rs 12,495 during the operation.
The accused include hotel owner Rajsingh Bhajansingh Gor0wada, 35, a resident of Gurunanak Krupa Building in Rajmudra Society, waiter Paras Parmanand Sharma, 24, originally from Nepalganj in Nepal, and customers Subhash Manasingh Giri, 20, Tilak Bhola Tiwari, 35, and Narayan Meghe Acharya, 34, all natives of Nepal.
Police said the hookah parlour was being run on the terrace of the third floor of Gurunanak Krupa Building in Rajmudra Housing Society. The raid was carried out on Feb. 9 after police received a tip-off while on patrol near Gulabnagar Chowk.
Following instructions from senior police inspector Vitthal Pawar, a team was formed to verify the information. The police broke open a wooden door on the terrace and conducted the raid.
Inside, officers found four tables set up, with eight people consuming hookah flavours. During a search of the kitchen area, police recovered hookah pots, chillums and other materials used for serving flavoured hookah.
All seized items, valued at Rs 12,495, were taken into custody. A case has been registered at Sahakarnagar police station, and further investigation is underway.
